Join us to support our Good Pours partner, the Stone Lake Fire Department. Meet the volunteer firefighters that keep our community safe when things heat up, see a shiny firetruck, check out their SWAG, and donate to keep them operating at tip top shape.
Before Thanksgiving, let's all give something to build up the community around us, join us to be Happy. Punks. Giving. (get it?!)
Throughout the weekend we will have several opportunities to do good:
Write a letter to a US Military Service Member (we will provide pens and paper)
Donate winter clothing and toiletries to St. Francis Solanus Mission Church and School (items needed for ages 3-14: coats, mittens, hats, scarves, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, calculators)
Donate non-perishable food items for holiday dinners to the Stone Lake Feed-A-Family Program
Be a part of making our communities strong, have fun, all while getting something tasty to drink. Any donation or participation in these efforts will be rewarded with half off any drink.
This is going to be an outrageously fun and special night of beer, silliness and costumes. Come enjoy one of the best Halloween themed seasonal beers from Great Lakes Brewing Company (Cleveland, OH) with Nosferatu Imperial Red Ale. This well hopped red ale will have you drinking red, not having it sucked from your neck.
Making the trip up to represent Great Lakes will be two very close friends of the Punk, Bob Kreutzer and Doug Hawkins, each a great beer ambassador as well as Grade 'A' Themed Party Hams.
In addition to some delicious beer, there will be prizes for creative, fun, and costumes so even if you have a final Halloween party destination, make us a part of your night and have a chance to win some goodies from The Whistle Punk and from Great Lakes.
Prepare to get your stange on! Nick Olson from Artisanal Imports is making the trip up north to celebrate a fantastic German beer, Sünner Kölsch with cool glassware, and a couple of special twists, including the tapping of a super limited ceremonial keg.
Sünner Kölsch is from Cologne (Köln), Germany and is a style born from the city's history. It is a delicate golden ale that is fermented at cooler temperatures like a lager giving it a clean finish with just a subtle fruit aroma from the yeast and a lightly grassy/herbal hop profile. We will be tapping a ceremonial keg of the Kölsch along with a limited release, unfiltered version called Kellerbier.
We will be serving the beer in its traditional glassware called a stange (say schtan-guh) which is a small, narrow, straight sided glass that looks like a test tube. We will be doing traditional table service with some cool serving trays. It is sure to be a great time, so bring a group of friends, enjoy some great beer, a soft pretzel, and enjoy a Hot Sünner Night!
Building off the success of our first couple of rides, we will now be expanding to two rides. One longer road bike ride with a moderate pace around 25-30 miles, and one shorter ride going around Stone Lake with a very casual pace designed for any rider on any type of bike. Of course there will be beer, coffee, root beer, and pretzels afterwards, because, c'mon that's what we are all excited about.
Join our August Good Pours partner, the Sawyer County K-9 Unit for an informational, fun, and entertaining day. Sgt. Nick Al-Moghrabi with K-9 Trace and Deputy Dennis Nelson and K-9 Oscar will be on hand to help raise money and awareness for the K-9 Unit and the positive work they do in our communities. At Noon there will be demonstrations in our parking lot so you can see the dogs in action. Help support them with a tasty beer or of course ask to make any purchase a Good Pour.
Eric will be in the house to unveil a very special beer from 3 Sheeps. Previously only a taproom exclusive, this exotic beer is a Belgian-style saison with mango added, and aged in white wine barrels; we can't wait to try it with you! We will also be pouring a super fresh keg of Waterslides IPA.
There will be all sorts of fun shenanigans going on, and we will even have 3 real live sheep at the party for petting and pictures.
It's time to party! We will be kicking off the start of summer with our grand opening on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Take in some sunshine on our new patio (not open just yet), play some bags or hammerschlagen, try some samples, enter to win prizes, and check out our new summer merch.
As a Washburn County business, we are so excited to be hosting the Washburn County Young Professionals Meet & Greet on Thursday, May 18th from 5:00-7:00 PM.
This is a meet and greet to find out what young (and young-at-heart) professionals want out of a group like this and how it can impact our community.
We are thrilled to see this group pop up in are area and can't wait to be involved! Hope to see you there!
